Embrace your creative spirit

07 January 16

In alignment with the recently launched Your Home, Your Place engagement initiative, Horizon Housing is currently inviting entries to the "My Home, My Place Art and Photo Competition" around the theme of “What My Home, My Place Means to Me”.

This competition is about encouraging people to think about the importance of their home or their special place and what it means to them. This could be your home, the people in it, the neighbourhood you live in or the community you are a part of. The Entry Form includes a summary of what the image means to you and how it represents the theme of the competition.

Horizon wants entrants to express their creativity and ideas through photography, drawing or painting an image on the theme using oil, acrylic, watercolour, pencil, charcoal, pen or ink, crayon or felt tip markers.

A selection of the photographs submitted will be displayed on the Horizon Housing website so check the website regularly to see what My Home, My Place means to other people.

Entry is free and only open to tenants and their dependants of Horizon Housing. More than one entry can be submitted but each entry must be the artist’s original work and have a separate and completed entry form.

The judging panel will select winners in three categories that best represent the competition theme and creativity expressed in the entry. Winners and selected entries will also be framed (at no cost to the entrant) and displayed in Horizon Housing office.

The competition is now open and closes 4.30pm Monday 29 February 2016. Winners will be announced in the Horizon Housing Home tenant newsletter in late March 2016.
