"Tallowwood On North" Logan Central

13 North Road

Logan Central 4114 Queensland

One of the first projects delivered under the Liveable Cities program, Tallowwood on North is a landmark development and catalyst of urban renewal across Logan Central. Comprising of six affordable units for sale and rent, the project delivers a wide array of community benefits.

Tallowwood on North is an architecturally-designed residential complex which demonstrates the high-quality housing outcomes supported by the new Logan Central Draft Master Plan. The development comprises of six affordable dwelling outcomes, to provide a greater diversity of housing options of appropriate size and within reach of the low-to-medium portion of the private housing market.

Horizon Housing offered a selection of the units for affordable sale, giving local residents the opportunity to enter home ownership within their means. High interest has also been generated in the investor market, owing to high capital growth potential and rental demand, coupled with the fact that each unit was awarded NRAS incentives.

Involving the redevelopment of an underutilised house site in disrepair, Tallowwood on North is an innovative model of infill development. Being ideally located in close proximity to public transport, services and other major amenities, the development provides great urban amenity and convenience to tenants. The closest train station is only 320m north, while local schools, shopping facilities and the ‘market’ precinct are within walking distance.

Affordability of the project has been achieved through innovative design of the building and efficient construction techniques, while ensuring a high level of finish and quality product is delivered. The outcome is a contemporary residence and prominent feature of the streetscape; with an efficient layout, comfortably-sized living and private outdoor spaces.

The project was awarded the Logan Urban Design Award in Architecture and represents a partnership between Horizon Housing, Logan City Council and the Australian Government, with funding contributions from each party.
