Horizon Housing and CHL Join Forces to Become Australia’s Largest Housing Provider

Horizon Housing has today announced its integration with Community Housing Limited (CHL), forming Australia’s largest community housing provider.

The new arrangement will combine the expertise, experience and resources of both housing providers to strengthen the reach and services offered to Australians and service offerings in Queensland.

The combined group will manage over 10,000 community and affordable housing properties across six states and in seven countries, with nearly 300 staff delivering services to support communities and people in need.

Horizon Housing CEO Jason Cubit said the organisation is excited for this new chapter, as the move is a critical step in improving the lives of the most vulnerable members of the community.

“This is not only a milestone event for Horizon Housing, but for every Australian doing it tough,” Mr Cubit said.

“This exciting new direction will help families and individuals break away from the enduring financial pressures coincided with the current climate of the housing market.”

Horizon Housing and its subsidiaries will maintain business as usual for the foreseeable future, delivering quality services to Queensland’s most vulnerable, whilst retaining all current governance structures, branding and staffing.

“Business will operate as per usual for Horizon Housing tenants, staff, clients, partners and other stakeholders,” Mr Cubit said. “We are committed to ensuring the integration with CHL has only positive outcomes for all involved by making the process a simple and smooth transition.”

The new arrangement with CHL does not require changes to current contracting arrangement and all Horizon Housing assets will remain with Horizon Housing.
